"During COVID, I decided to pursue a career in lorry driving. On my very first day, an old veteran driver - just about to retire - looked at me and said:

I laughed. I thought he was joking. But a few weeks later, stuck in traffic on the way to London, I realised exactly what he meant.
I ran out of time and ended up in a lay-by that absolutely stank of human waste. Bags in the bushes, toilet paper everywhere, drivers peeing by their trucks.
No toilets.
No dignity.
No solution.
That moment made me stop and think.
I went online, looking for a proper solution but nothing existed!
The options were bulky chemical toilets, which are expensive, hard to maintain, and not practical for drivers with limited space.
Then I realised it wasn’t just a driver problem. It was bigger.
Campers, hikers, off-grid workers, even entire fleets: millions of people worldwide face the same challenge!
Human waste dumped in the open isn’t just unpleasant, it causes groundwater pollution, contaminates soil, and damages the reputation of transport companies.
Some lay-bys are even closed down every year because of it.
Transport managers are sick of dealing with pee bottles and roadside waste, but until now, there was no realistic alternative.
That’s when I designed and developed PlopEco® — a portable toilet system that’s compact, disposable, and eco-friendly.
- For wild campers, I designed a cat-hole liner that biodegrades naturally.
- For emergencies, I created ultra-compact bag + powder kits that fit in any backpack.
- For those needing a full setup, I built a fold-out collapsible toilet with compostable bags and eco-powder that turns waste into a safe, solid gel.
Every version is lightweight, waterproof, odourless, chemical-free, and TÜV Austria certified compostable.
